The Jataí bee honey is a product that has shown a growing market demand, but that in relation to their consumption and for medicinal purposes also has little information. This work aimed to evaluate the physico-chemical characteristics (acidity, reducing sugars, ash, pH, sucrose, insoluble solids and humidity) and adulterants test (Fiehe, lugol and Lund) of honey bees Jataí (Tetragonisca angustula) according to Instruction Rules 11, October 20th, 2000.The samples were collected on the Riveda Farm, located in Felisberto district of the city of Curiúva-PR. The samples were obtained from four honey boxes and the analysis performed in sextuplicate. The data were processed by the statistical program BioEstat 5.0, the model used was descriptive statistics to survey the central measure such as mean and maximum and minimum values observed. The results obtained in this study confirm that the current legislation does not include the physical and chemical characteristics of Jataí bee honey (Tetragonisca angustula), therefore, this work adds to the related studies to further obtain a pattern with governmental agencies seeking specific legislation, with more information to the consumption of this product. |
